Description (Japanese): 谷間の渓流沿いに自生が見られる。水分を多く必要とする。若木の幹にはウリハダカエデのように縞が入る。葉裏に毛がなく、脈腋に膜がある。秋は紅葉がきれい。
Description: A tree grows wild near streams in mountainous valley. A water-loving species. The bark of young trees has stripe patterns similar to Acer rufinerve. The leaf underside has no hairs but the vein axil is membranaceous. Colored foliage in autumn is striking.
