Description (Japanese): 北海道から近畿の一部以北の高山帯に自生。雄性同株。花は黄緑色で７月に咲く。花序は直立する。高さ3〜10mと、高木もあると記載があるが、見たことのある木は3mぐらいで幹が細い。栽培は難しい。秋は黄色から赤色。
Description: This occurs from Hokkaido to alpine zone of northern Kinki districts. The flowers are male and monoecious. It produces yellow-green flowers in an upright inflorescence in July. According to the description, it will attain 3–10m high, but the trees with a height of about 3m high with a thin trunk are commonly seen. It is difficult to cultivate. The autumn foliage colors are yellow to red.
