Description (Japanese): "\"'近畿地方以西には少ない。湿地に自生。高さ5m前後の木。春芽出しした葉は、赤紫色になる事もある。勢いのよい枝の葉は、5〜3裂になる。雌雄同株。円錐花序を出し、たくさんの花が咲く。秋は黄色。中には赤くなる木もある。[23] 日本からシベリアに自生する落葉小高木で、高さ5 mになる。葉は浅く３裂し、個体によって赤〜黄色に紅葉する。'\""

Description: This species is distributed mostly Kinki district northwards. It prefers wet places. It grows to about 5m tall. The spring foliage color is sometimes red-purple. The leaves on the vigorous shoots are 3–5 lobes. Monoecious tree. A large number of flowers are borne in a spike inflorescence. The autumn color is commonly yellow, or red.
