Description (Japanese): 単幹で、稀に群生する。幹は球形〜やや円筒形、直径5〜8cmで刺に覆われる。疣は大きく、付け根や溝は白い毛が密生する。中刺は通常ないが、ある場合はやや湾曲する。縁刺は16〜18本で白かやや黄色、長さ10〜12mm。花は鮮黄色、直径は最大で10cmほど。果実は緑色。
