Description (Japanese):
Description: The Japanese name, Megusuri no ki, came from ‘an eye lotion tree,’ because it is said to be effective for good eyesight if you drink its decocted branches. The flower is dioecious. The tree I grow is now female, but once it had male flowers. The petiole, peduncle and both sides of leaves are very hairy. It is widely distributed from Miyagi to Kyushu on the Pacific Ocean side.
