Description (Japanese): 春から秋に生育する球根植物で、冬でも温度があれば葉が枯れず、常緑性を示す。-5℃程度の耐寒性があり、松戸では無加温の温室で容易に越冬する。夏に40〜70cmの花茎をのばし、 径15cmの赤い独特な形の花を1、2輪つける。現在のゼフィランサス属では最も大型種の一つ。
