Description (Japanese): 常緑の非耐寒性シダで、個体によって葉の色が黄緑、灰緑、青緑色と多様で、青色の強いものがblue star fernとして流通する。着生種で、シノブのような太い根茎をもち、同様な栽培ができる。耐寒性は5℃程度とされるが、分布域を見る限り、数年に一度は氷点下になるので、年に数回の–5℃程度の低温には耐えると考えられる。
