Description (Japanese): 秋植え球根で、エングラー体系ではユリ科とされていた。同じムスカリ属で最も普及しているM. armeniacumに比べて花の色はやや濃く、赤みがある紫色。早咲きのチューリップやスイセンと同時期に咲き、どちらにもない花色なので、組み合わせて植えるのに適している。
