Description (Japanese): 枝分かれする灌木で、枝は匍匐またはやや直立し、高さ30cmほどの密集した株を作る。茎節は長方形〜棍棒状で濃緑色、長さ5-15cm、幅1-1.5cm、厚さ1-1.5cm。棘座は大きく、灰白色、棘は2-3(-6) 本で鉤爪状〜まっすぐ、長さ1-3cm。花は黄色〜橙黄色、直径4cmまで。
