Description (Japanese): 山形、新潟、福島（西部）各県のみ自生が見られる。あまり大きな木は見当たらない。成木は葉裏が白いが、若い木はあまり白くない。葉は比較的小型である。
Description: The native areas of this species are restricted to Yamagata, Niigata and western Fukushima. Large trees are not seen in the native habitat. The leaf underside when young is not so white, but when it gets old it becomes white.
