Description (Japanese):

Description: This species is highly variable as to flower and leaf shapes in its habitat. The plant with wider petals of the flowers is called Acer australe. The leaf shape can be distinguished in its habitat, but A. tschonoskii, A. micranthum and this species are all very similar. So, this can be considered to be an intermediate. Recently, it is reported that this species in southern districts in Japan, Kyusyu, Shikoku and Kinki is also the same as a A. tschonoskii form with large leaves (Oba mine kaede) found in northern district, Tohoku.
