Description (Japanese): 奄美大島、徳之島のみに自生。本州に植えても成長が早く、よく育つ。1年に2mも枝を伸ばす。挿し木で活着しやすい。春から夏にかけて枝、葉すべてが若緑色。小枝のすべてから総状の花をつけ見事である。秋は黄色に染まる。
Description: This is native only to islands of Amami Oshima and Tokunoshima. The growth is fast and well even if planted on Honshu mainland, growing 2m long a year. Cuttings are easy. All of the branches and leaves are young-green from spring to summer. The wonderful flowers are borne in racemes hanging from all branchlets. In autumn, the leaves turn to yellow.
