description_en: Genus of one species of erect, deciduous shrub found in scrub and at woodland margins in N. China. An unusual plant and rare in gardens, X. sorbifolium is cultivated for its alternate, pinnate leaves and attractive star-shaped, 5-petalled white flowers, borne in late spring. Suitable for a shrub border, for training against a wall, or for a sunny position in a woodland garden.
