The upright or decumbent stems bear spirally arranged, linear-lance-shaped to rounded, simple or lobed to palmate, toothed leaves. Saucer- or cup-shaped, mallow-like flowers, the stamens joined into a column around the styles, are produced singly or in racemes or panicles from summer to autumn. Suitable for a gravel garden, raised bed, or stony bank, with protection from excessive winter wet; may also be grown in a cold greenhouse.
