description_en: Genus of 19 species of woody-based perennials and shrubs from a variety of habitats in South Africa. The evergreen, alternate, usually toothed leaves vary from linear to elliptic or ovate and are sometimes lobed or 3-palmate. They are grown for their shallowly cup-shaped, 5-petalled flowers, borne singly or in racemes, corymbs, or cymes from spring to autumn. In frost-prone areas, grow in a cool greenhouse, standing plants outside or bedding them out in summer. In frost-free areas, grow in a border.
