Description en: Genus of about 250 species of upright, climbing, or scrambling annuals and perennials, and evergreen shrubs or subshrubs, occurring in diverse habitats in subtropical and temperate areas. They have mostly entire leaves and produce solitary or clustered, funnel- or trumpet-shaped flowers. Grow in a rock garden, on a sunny bank, or in a mixed or herbaceous border. In frost-prone areas, grow half-hardy and frost-tender species in a temperate greenhouse. In areas with cold, wet winters, grow C. cneorum and C. sabatius in containers, and move them into a cold greenhouse in winter. Species with running rootstocks can prove invasive.
