They are valued for their aromatic foliage and their slender panicles or racemes of 2-lipped, tubular flowers. The leaves are opposite and lance-shaped to ovate-elliptic. Grow in a herbaceous or shrub border. In frost-prone areas, grow tender species in a cool greenhouse.
