Distribution en: Tanzania (Pemba), Comoros, Madagascar
Description en: Genus of about 20 species of single- and cluster-stemmed palms from forest in areas with high rainfall in Madagascar and adjacent islands. The pinnate, arching leaves are arranged in terminal clusters; panicles of small, 3-petalled flowers are borne among them. In frost-prone areas, grow m a temperate or warm greenhouse, or as houseplants. In tropical or subtropical regions, grow as elegant specimen trees.
