description_en: Genus of 5 species of rhizomatous perennials from woodland in E. North America. They have erect, simple or branched stems, the upper parts bearing alternate, stalkless or perfoliate, ovate to lance-shaped, hairless or downy leaves. Pendent, tubular-bell-shaped, 6-tepalled yellow flowers are produced on long, slender stalks, and are usually solitary (occasionally in pairs) and terminal. Excellent for a peat bed, shady border, or woodland garden.
