Distribution en: E. China to Temp. E. Asia, E. Canada to Guatemala

Description en: Genus of 2 species of trailing, evergreen perennials found in woodland in North America and Japan. The trailing stems root at the nodes and bear opposite, broadly ovate to lance-shaped leaves. Small, funnel-shaped, fragrant white flowers, borne in pairs in summer, are followed by ornamental red berries. Grow in a rock garden or woodland garden, or on a peat terrace.
