Description en: Genus of 20 frequently mat-forming annuals and perennials from dry, sandy areas in the Azores and the Canary Islands, the Mediterranean region, N.E. Africa, and Ethiopia. The mainly ovate to lance-shaped, toothed or lobed, bright green basal leaves are usually arranged in rosettes, while the branching stems support pinnate or lobed leaves. Leaves and stems contain a milky latex. Daisy-like, bright yellow flowerheads emerge over a long period from spring to summer. Suitable for the front of a mixed or annual border.
