The long-stalked, fan-shaped, palmately lobed leaves are borne in a terminal, almost spherical head. Small, cup-shaped flowers, each composed of a fused, 3-lobed calyx and a 3-lobed corolla, are borne in panicles between the leaves. In frost-prone areas, grow in a warm greenhouse or as house-plants. In tropical regions, grow in a shrub border or as specimen plants on a lawn.
