description_en: Genus of about 35 species of aromatic annuals and short-lived herbaceous perennials from plains, prairies, and mountain screes in W. and C. USA. They are grown for their aromatic foliage and flowers. Alternate, narrowly linear to lance-shaped or inversely lance-shaped, occasionally lobed, very hairy leaves are usually arranged in basal rosettes, but are occasionally distributed along the stems. The mostly solitary, daisy-like yellow flowerheads are borne in early summer. Grow in a sunny scree bed or alpine house.
