description_en: Genus of about 20 species of evergreen shrubs or woody-stemmed, twining climbers from tropical woodland in S.E. Asia and the Pacific islands. Alternate, 3-palmate leaves have lance-shaped to rounded leaflets, the terminal one largest. From winter to summer, they bear pendent racemes of pea-like, red, orange, blue, or bluish green flowers with pointed, upturned keel petals. Below 15°C (59°F), grow in a warm greenhouse. In warmer areas, train over an arch or pergola.
