description_en: Genus of 5 species of rhizomatous, creeping perennials from woodland in C. and S. Europe, and Siberia (Russia) to the Himalayas, China, and Japan. Scopolias have alternate, simple, entire, boldly veined leaves. They die back after producing solitary, pendent, bell-shaped flowers in spring. Grow in woodland. All parts are highly toxic if ingested.
