description_en: Genus of 2 species of dwarf, evergreen shrubs found in pockets of humus-rich soil, often among limestone rocks, in the eastern Alps and Turkey. They have glossy, dark green foliage, and are grown for their solitary, occasionally clustered, cup-shaped pink flowers, produced in profusion from the leaf axils in early summer. Grow in a rock garden, peat bed, or alpine house. They are not easy to establish.
