description_en: Genus of 9 species of deciduous shrubs and trees from mountain woodland in China and Vietnam. They are valued for their cup-shaped, 5-petalled white flowers, borne in leafless, axillary, cyme-like panicles or racemes, and their oblong or elliptic, ribbed, woody fruits. The leaves are alternate and finely toothed. R. macrocarpum, the only species usually cultivated, is ideal for a woodland garden.
