description_en: Genus of about 20 species of evergreen, twining climbers or shrubs, closely related to Ipomoea, from open or dense woodland in tropical Africa, Asia, and Australia. They have alternate, usually heart-shaped leaves, and are grown for their small, bell- to funnel-shaped, white, blue, or purple flowers, borne singly or in terminal panicles or cymes. Where temperatures drop below 7°C (45°F), grow in a cool or temperate greenhouse. In warmer regions, they are suitable for training over a pergola or arch, or through a shrub.
