description_en: Genus of 3 species of prostrate, ever-green shrubs occurring in boggy meadows in Australia, Tasmania, and New Zealand. They are grown for their heath-like, linear to ovate or elliptic, mid- or dark green leaves, and for their solitary, axillary, small, tubular flowers; the colourful, berry-like fruits are seldom produced in cultivation. They are suitable for a rock garden or peat bank, but grow best in cool climates with mild winters; they are difficult to cultivate in hot, dry conditions.
