description_en: Genus of one species of evergreen shrub from tropical woodland in Venezuela. It has opposite, simple, entire leaves, and is grown for its colourful, terminal, spike-like cymes of 2-lipped, tubular flowers surrounded by crimson bracts. Where temperatures fall below 15°C (59°F), grow in a temperate or warm greenhouse; in warmer areas, grow in a courtyard garden or a shrub border.
