Funnel-shaped or tubular flowers are borne in axillary cymes or terminal panicles on the current year’s growth in summer and autumn; they have persistent calyces which, in several species, remain attractive after the flowering period. Abelias are Ideal for a sunny border. In frost-prone climates, grow less hardy species against a warm, sunny wall.
