description_en: Genus of about 11 species of slender, single- or cluster-stemmed palms from rainforest and upland or coastal sands in New Guinea and Australia. Pinnate leaves are loosely clustered at the tops of the stems, and axillary, 3-petalled flowers are borne in slim, erect spikes. Where temperatures drop below 13°C (55°F), grow in a warm greenhouse. In tropical areas, grow as specimen plants.
