description_en: Genus of about 15 species of low-growing, herbaceous perennials found mostly in open sites in scrub, grassland, and at forest margins, from lowland to subalpine altitudes, in Asia, Australasia, and Central and South America. They are cultivated for their solitary, daisy-like, white to purple flowerheads, borne over long periods in summer. The mostly basal leaves are oblong to broadly ovate, and may be entire or toothed to pinnatifid. Grow in a rock garden, on a sunny bank, or at the front of a border.
