description_en: Genus of one species of evergreen, monoecious or dioecious, coniferous tree or shrub found only in limited areas of forest in Chile and Argentina, where it is now rare because of overfelling and habitat loss. Although similar to junipers in general appearance, and in having whorls of 3 short, blunt leaves, the cones of F. cupressoides differ in having 3 whorls on each of 3 scales, and the seeds are winged. Grow as a specimen tree or shrub in open woodland.
