Description en: Genus of 2 species of evergreen, semi-evergreen, or deciduous trees and shrubs, occurring in woodland in the Himalayas and E. Asia. The oblong to ovate or lance-shaped leaves, borne alternately, are either entire or toothed. Bowl-shaped, white or pinkish white flowers are produced in umbels of 2-6. D. delavayi is an attractive flowering specimen tree or shrub, suitable for a sheltered site.

Propagation en: Sow seed in containers in a cold frame in autumn or spring.
Pests en: Susceptible to fireblight. Caterpillars may also be troublesome.
