Description en: Genus of about 350 terrestrial or epiphytic, evergreen ferns, often with trunk-like rhizomes, found worldwide, in tropical, and warm- or cool-temperate forest. The pinnate to 3-pinnate or simple fronds, arise from erect or some-times creeping rhizomes. Spores, formed in single or often V-shaped, double lines along the veins on the lower surfaces of the fronds, are covered by indusia when young. In frost-prone areas, grow in a warm greenhouse; elsewhere, use in a moist, sheltered site.

Propagation en: Sow spores at 21°C (70°F) as soon as ripe. Separate underground runners of species such as D. esculentum in spring.
