description_en: Genus of 20 species of erect perennials from Europe and C. and E. Asia, found in very variable habitats, from seashores to mountain summits. They were previously included in and commonly grown as Chrysanthemum, but are now considered distinct. Alternate, mostly rounded, aromatic, fleshy, mid- to dark green leaves are palmately 5-lobed. Disc- or bowl-shaped, white, yellow, pink, or purple flowerheads, 1-8cm (1/2-3in) across, are produced singly or in loose corymbs. Grow in a herbaceous or mixed border, a rock garden, or a scree bed. All parts may cause mild stomach upset if ingested, and contact with the foliage may aggravate skin allergies.
hardiness_en: Fully hardy.
