description_en: Genus of one species of deciduous, succulent shrub or small tree occurring from sea level to 500m (1,600ft) or more in Madagascar. It has zigaag twigs, borne on spreading branches, which produce a small, inversely heart-shaped leafand 2 spines from each node, and a single cyme of small, cup-shaped white flowers in summer. In frost-prone areas, grow D. madagascariensis in a warm greenhouse. In warmer areas, grow at the base of a wall or in a courtyard garden.
