description_en: Genus of about 50 species of perennials, mostly found in cool, moist conditions, in scrub and on open slopes at high altitudes in India, Tibet, and China. They have often kidney-shaped, usually rosetted basal leaves and upright stems with bract-like leaves. They are grown for their usually pendent, daisy-like flowerheads, borne singly or in simple, few-flowered racemes or corymbs. Grow in woodland, a rock garden, or an alpine house. They grow best in cool climates with snow cover in winter.
