They are cultivated for their ovate to lance-shaped, entire to lobed leaves, and their small, funnel- to trumpet-shaped or tubular, 5-lobed, red, purple, blue, or pinkish yellow flowers, borne singly or in terminal cymes in summer. Grow C. biflora in an annual or mixed border. The flowers are attractive to bees.
