description_en: Genus of 5 species of rhizomatous herbaceous perennials from woodland in the Himalayas, E. Asia, and North America. They have basal clumps of elliptic to broadly ovate, entire, glossy, pale to mid-green leaves. Bell- to star-shaped flowers are borne on upright stems in racemes or umbels, or occasionally singly; they are followed by spherical, fleshy berries. Grow in a woodland garden.
