description_en: Genus of 3 species of herbaceous climbers, with thick, tuberous roots, found in forest and at forest margins in the Canary Islands and E. Africa. The leaves are opposite_ and simple or lobed. Canarinas are valued for their pendent, bell-shaped flowers, with 6 petal lobes, produced singly or in clusters from the upper leaf axils. In frost-prone regions, grow in a container or border in a cool greenhouse or conservatory; elsewhere, grow against a house wall or allow to scramble through low shrubs.
