Description en: Genus of 2 evergreen species, one a perennial climber, the other a shrub (not usually cultivated), found in forest in W. Africa. They have simple leaves, in opposite pairs, and are valued for their showy, tubular-based, 5-petalled flowers, which are borne in spherical heads at the ends of the shoots. Grow C, redingii in a warm greenhouse; in subtropical and tropical areas, it is suitable for training over large shrubs, through trees, or on house walls.
