description_en: Genus of one species of erect, sparsely branched, evergreen shrub from volcanic cliffs or scree in the Azores. It has ridged stems and alternate, mid-green leaves, and bears racemes of bell-shaped flowers in late summer. In frost-prone areas, A. vidalii is an attractive plant for a cool conservatory or greenhouse. In frost-free climates, it is best grown among shrubs or in a border.
