Description en: Genus of 30 species of low-mound-forming perennials, subshrubs, or shrubs from exposed, rocky hillsides in C. and E. Asia. The leaves are shallowly lobed to pinnatifid, and often white-woolly. They bear attractive racemes or branched corymbs of button-like yellow flowers in summer and autumn, and are suitable for a sunny rock garden or herbaceous border.

Propagation en: Sow seed in containers in a cold frame in spring. Divide runners in spring, or take basal cuttings in spring or summer.

Description ja: Shen, CZ et al. (2021) のITSと7つの核遺伝子の分析ではAjaniaは単系統群であり、Chrysanthemumの姉妹群となったが、日本に分布するイソギク・シオギクはChrysanthemumクレードに含まれたため、この属の和名をイソギクやシオギクにはできない。
