Description en: Genus of 10 species of annuals and evergreen or semi-evergreen, spreading, woody-stemmed perennials found in mountainous areas and open sites from C. and S. Europe to Asia. They have small, aromatic, usually mid-green, opposite leaves, and tubular, 2-lipped flowers, borne in erect, spike-like whorls in midsummer. Grow in a rock garden or at the front of a border.
