Distribution en: Subarctic & Temp. Northern Hemisphere
Description en: Genus of one species of slender, prostrate, mat-forming, evergreen shrub, with stems that root where they touch the soil. It is native to woodland, heaths, and tundra in N. Eurasia and North America. Cultivated for its neat foliage and bell-shaped flowers, it is suitable for ground cover in a peat bed, woodland garden, or large rock garden.

Propagation en: Sow seed in containers outdoors in autumn. Take softwood cuttings in early summer. Remove rooted runners between autumn and spring and pot up until established.
