Distribution en:

Description en: Genus of about 100 species of spreading to upright perennials, some evergreen, from dry slopes, dry forests, sunny riverbanks, or moist woodland in the N. hemisphere. The larger species provide pale foliage contrast in borders too moist for most sun-loving, grey-leaved plants, while the smaller species are excellent, long-lasting rock-garden plants.

Hardiness en: Fully hardy.

Cultivation en:

Propagation en: Sow seed in containers in a cold frame in spring. Divide in early spring, or take basal or stem tip cuttings in spring or early summer.

Pests en: Trouble free.
