description_en: Genus of 50 species of annuals, perennials, and subshrubs occurring on stony slopes and grassland and in open woodland in Australia (one species in New Zealand). They have alternate, pinnate leaves and pea-like, usually purple, sometimes white, pink, yellow, orange, or red flowers, with very broad standard petals, borne in erect, axillary racemes from spring to summer. In frost-prone areas, grow in a cool greenhouse. Elsewhere, use in a border.
