description_en: Genus of 8 or 9 species of perennials, sometimes grown as biennials, from woodland and stony sites in China. They are cultivated for their large, foxglove-like flowers, which are 2-lipped and borne in terminal racemes. The leaves, arranged in basal rosettes, are large, obovate to oblong, shallowly lobed or toothed, conspicuously veined, and hairy. Grow at the front of a sunny border; in regions with mild, damp winters grow permanently, or over-winter, in a cool greenhouse.
